  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2003.
  2. From the menu bar, select Tools > E-Mail Accounts.
  3. The E-Mail Accounts wizard starts.
  4. Choose Add a new e-mail account and click on the Next > button.
  5. The Server Type window appears. Select POP3 from the list and click the Next > button.

  6. The Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window opens. Enter the following information:
    Your Name: Enter your name
    E-mail Address:
    username@usnetizen.com
    Incoming mail server (POP3):
    pop.gmail.com
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
    smtp.gmail.com
    User Name:
    username@usnetizen.com
    Password:
    Enter your password
  7. Click on More Settings. Click on Outgoing Server. Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  8. Click on the Advanced tab. Check the box This server requires and encrypted connection. The Incoming server (POP3) port should change to 995.
  9. Check the box This server requires and encrypted connection. The Outgoing server (SMTP) port should change to 465.
  10. Click OK then Next. The Congratulations window opens.
  11. Click on Finish to close the wizard.
  12. Outlook 2003 is now configured to send and receive e-mails.
