Windows Vista - Unhiding Error Messages

  1. When you attempt to connect to US Netizen and your connection fails, Vista delivers the following message:

  2. If you click on Diagnose the Problem, Vista can't seem for find anything wrong.

That's obviously pretty worthless because there was a problem. Vista does generate error codes, but for some reason Microsoft has decided to hide them from you. Follow these instructions to unhide Vista Dial-up Networking error codes.

  1. Click on the Start button, then Connect to.

  2. Click on Open Network and Sharing Center.

  3. Click on Manage Network Connections.

  4. Double click your US Netizen dial-up connection or single click to highlight and choose Start This Connection.

  5. Enter your password if needed and click Dial.
  6. You will see the dialer progress.

  7. Once connected to our servers, it will attempt authorization.

  8. Finally, it will display an error.

  9. Now you can troubleshoot the error code or contact tech support.
