Error 734: The PPP link control protocol was terminated.
According to the Microsoft Knowledge Base (Article 310431), this problem can occur when the "Include Windows logon domain check box is selected in the Options tab of the dial-up connection's Properties." It can also occur if your UDelNet ID or password is incorrect or if the dial-up connection has Require secure password selected. Microsoft suggests the following procedure to check for this error:Microsoft Help for Error 734 for Windows XP.
- Click the Start button, point at Connect To, then select your UD dial-up connection.
- Click Properties, then select the Options tab.
- Make sure the checkbox next to Include Windows logon domain is not checked.
- Select the Security tab.
- Make sure that Allow unsecured password is the method selected in the dialog box labeled Validate my identity as follows: (Use the small down-arrow to select it if another option is selected.).
- Click OK.
